Did You Know Taking a Leap of Faith Is Spelt R-I-S-K?

Something struck me this weekend: I was sitting in church listening to the speaker; a leap of faith is spelt R-I-S-K. I’ve known it all along, but I’ve realised that I’ve become a little complacent or measured at times. It can be easy to start thinking of all the reasons and measuring the cost, the outcome, or the reward.

Throughout my life the greatest progress I’ve made is when I’ve heard from God and jumped scared. I may not feel like I have what it takes or I’m not sure how it’s all going to work out but I know He’s spoken and I feel an excitement in my spirit, my heart beating faster, that feeling of knowing you have to jump.

Delay can be our biggest barrier to growth

I’m reminded of when I was a practice manager in a law firm years ago. I was training my replacement and I told her, if you touch that piece of paper more than once you won’t have time to complete all the requirements of this job. The one piece of paper, and the next and the next add time that we don’t always have. She told me later it was true and that my practices were more efficient than the lady who had come in to train her previous workplace on efficiency. I’ve not always taken my own advice.

We are daily inviting the explorers we talk with to take a leap into the unknown, to look forward with hope and take steps that will help to bring positive change.

I know for me, it’s time, take the leaps, take the R-I-S-K and move forward into change. How about you?
